HIVE India rescues fire victims

A massive fire broke out in a slum at Ultadanga during January 2010 and atleast 500 huts were engulfed in the blaze. The team at HIVE responded within half an hour and continued their service day and night for 4 days at a stretch. The rescue operation primarily included first aid for hundreds of people- children, men, women and old people, dressing the fire victims, providing them medicines, transferring injured/burnt victims to nearby hospitals as well as facilitating them for admission in emergency wards of government hospitals.
