HIVE India – A Social Welfare Organization
HIVE INDIA is a social development organization working for the deprived, less- privileged sections of the society in Kolkata in the field of primary health, education, and child protection. HIVE runs crèche for the infants & toddlers, primary academic classes for the out-of-school children, special tutorial classes for the mainstream children under the education project.
HIVE runs an unique service - Emergency Response Unit – the very first initiative of its kind in Kolkata – which responds to any may day call any time, anywhere, in any corner of the city, which reaches the spot within 15-20 minutes of the call received to rescue anybody in distressed situation lying unattended.
HIVE works closely with Police headquarters at Lalbazar and the Community Police wing(Civil police) of the Kolkata Police. The organization primarily is funded by the well-known funding agency Hope Foundation based at Ireland.

80-year-old woman rescued from railway station: THE TELEGRAPH – METRO
Posted on March 8, 2007 | No CommentsAn 80 year old deranged woman was found walking on the railway tacks dangerously when witnesses dragged her away and contacted HIVE India. The rescue team at HIVE rushed to the spot and with information from local police was able to reunite the woman with her children. -

Lack of sanitation, clean water and inability to fight the bitter winter resulted in illness of the residents. HIVE provides treatment and better living conditions to them. Child labor: Burdened, bruised and burnt: THE TELEGRAPH–METRO
Posted on September 15, 2005 | No Comments13yr old Kartik and his friend Pandi were brought to Kolkata by their uncle, Rajangan to assist him at work. In reality, Rajangan overburdened and ill-treated the boys and also burnt them with hot iron-rods. With help from police, the young children were rescued and provided shelter in a safe Home.
